Handmade raku fired tea jar set of 2 ~

Raku firing is a Japanese ceramics technique that has been used for many centuries to create unique finishes to pottery.

The jar was removed from the fire at 1700 degrees and placed into a container with combustibles and reduced to create the final colors and textures. This burning process creates the surface design. Each piece is unique, from this process of extremes.

Raku-fired pieces are best suited for dry goods only, as they are fired at a lower temperature and are still porous.

**Small jar received a crack in the lid from the temperature shock. It was filled and adorned with gold powder, adding a touch of wabi-sabi.
